Atopic dermatitis or atopic eczema

Atopic dermatitis usually develops in early childhood and is more common in people who have a family history.

Symptoms: The main symptom is rash that typically appears on the chicks, elbow, knee but can also appear anywhere.
Skin: Rashes, dryness, redness, bumps. These are symptoms of atopic dermatitis.

My kid was detected with this in early age like he was of 5 months at that time we went to many pediatrics but no results it was coming again & again and they were saying that will go as per age. Then when we tried to go to dermatologist and he said that it is a kind of eczema it also happens in kids due deficiency of Vitamin A. And he suggested for some chewable tablets of Vitamin A and it actually worked like miracle. On 4 th day the allergy was almost 2% left.

Not getting enough of vitamin A can be to blame for the development of eczema and other skin problems. In one of 12 weeks study people with chronic eczema who took 10 - 40 mg of alittetinoin per day experienced up to 53% reduction in their symptoms.

Keep in mind that dry skin can have many causes, but Vitamin A deficiency can be the reason. Rather than this there are many does & don'ts which we have to follow for this kind of sensitive skin. Following are some

Do's  & Don't

1. Keep the skin moisturized.  And use a skin suitable body wash no soap.  For my kids skin I tried many body wash but was not successful. Lately I tried a full range of SebaMed and I was truly satisfied they keep up the pH level of skin and prevent it from becoming dry & irritated.

2. Never use a perfume or deodorant when the clothes are wear. If they are very much obsessed by perfumes after seeing there fathers applying them then apply the perfume first on clothes and then make them wear. Even in market we are getting special kids perfume do buy it. Following is one which I am using for my son.

3. Don't wash their clothes with ours. Wash their clothes separately.  And don't use detergent in it. Wash their clothes with a specific liquid soap which are specifically made for children's clothes there are few available in market. I am using the Mee Mee liquid soap.

4. Never take them outside without a mask that is observed by me that he has allergies from dust, smoke, strong smells etc. So I prefer him to take in car or in two wheel then him wear a mask. Even don't use a dettol or savlon in there clothes the smell also irritates them. Even my dermatologist suggested me this things while interrogating with me about his condition.

5. Special care must be taken of him when the season changes.  Should extra moisturize them should give them haldi & honey twice a day to boost there immunity. Because whenever the season changes his skin becomes dry and tendency of getting cold & cough also increases.

6. Keep them up with foods which contains Vitamin A such as all the red, green vegetables.  Such as carrot, all the type of capsicum, spinach, broccoli, tomato juice, sweet potatoes. Also dairy products, mango, & dried apricots.

That's all from my hope you people like the article & it may be useful for you.

How to keep kids away from screen during quarantine

Due to quarantine how to keep them away from screens are one of the main issue mothers have these day. I will not lie this same is with me as well but I try and do my best to give him lesser opportunity grab phone 🤷‍♀️

● Set the Example start with the toughest one, but there is nowhere else to start. Children will always gravitate toward the modeled behaviors of their parents. If they see you reading a book, they are more likely to read. And if they see you watching television, so will they. So set an example and cut your screen time.

● I try to indulge him in games wich takes little more time to complete some of them are

-Lego or blocks
-make them play with dough
-water-colour painting
-board games but they should not be in ur phone😉 such snake & ladder, ludo, carom, etc.

● Play with Your Kids. Get down on the floor with your kids and pick up a doll, truck, or ball. It takes intentionality and selfless love when they are 6. But when they turn 13, you’ll be glad you did. You can play hide & seek, blind man buff, catch, hopscotch,  musical chair, rock-papper-scizzor, lagori or pithu, langdi this will improve there motor skills too. So try and play with them.

● value family meals & car drives. Make a rule that the whole family will sit together and have a meal without any gadgets. And car drives too without gadgets talk to each other and spend some quality time.

● Be little strict It is your job to encourage healthy behaviors and limit unhealthy ones – sometimes this means making unpopular decisions like limiting your children’s screen time. Make these tough decisions for your children and explain why you have made.

You cannot stop them at a scratch from there screen time but you can give them a schedule how much time they can see them

● Most of the time kids learn from cartoons they are watching. Make sure they watch which does not influences them in a wrong way. And if it does then cut that channel from your package and add channels like national geographic, animal planet etc.

● Download hotstar they have nice movies as well as cartoons like balganesha, little Krishna, hanuman they will learn something from it .

●Have parental control in your phone so that they cannot see any those videos which are not likely for there age.

● You can download kids friendly apps which are likely have intellectual content so that they can learn something from it at the same time can play with them.

That's all from my side do tell me how did you liked it.

Fussy eating habits of kids

For a mother it’s a day-to-day juggle between healthy food & junk food. More than that to make a your child eat that healthy food.

Before few days in dinner I made a curry of sponge gourd. 😐My kid refused to eat it. So this is a daily drama in my house for vegetables. So on that day I strictly🙍‍♀️ told him that you have to eat this compulsorily otherwise you sleep hungry.

So he made an excuse that I am not hungry now will eat it later. And don’t had his dinner on time. I said ok no issues suddenly at 10.30 PM ⏱ he is asking me for food saying that I am hungry. I gave him the same curry & chapatis. And made him feel the value of food & value of food in our lives.

This happens in every house everyday I guess. And mothers have to find a way out of it to how to feed them some healthy foods with some taste. I use to do the same I make every different type of paratha with different vegetables. To make a healthy breakfast such as beat parathamanchurian (cabbage, carrot, onion, oregano) paratha, carrot parathamethi Theplapalak puris, paneer paratha, cheese paratha all with ghee.

But rather than this I think we should make our children to understand the value of food we get. Once he was not eating khichdi as well. Then I took that khichdi in a polyethylene bag and took him to one of the foot path where people where sleeping. And called a little girl from there for food she ran and came took the bag go back and started eating it. 😀

And than I explain him that there are lakhs of people in our country who don’t get food 🥘. I made him realize the value of food. And after this incident he started eating khichdi & green vegetables as well. I think we should make them understand that whatever leisure they are getting is not of free it takes a lot of hardwork by there parents and they should respect those things.

We should make them habit of turn off the 🚰water while brushing, should switch off the lights 💡when not necessary, should teach them to keep their plates 🍽 after having their lunch or dinner, should keep their shoes 👟 in shoe rack after coming from play ground these are some basic manners which we should teach them from a very young age and not shouting in the older ages.

Now a days parents thinks that whatever things we have not got in our childhood we will fulfill all our kids wishes. But in my opinion they should teach them to value the things as well.

That’s all for today will meet soon. Up till that stay healthy stay happy.

My way of multigrain atta

In India most of the states use wheat bread or chapatis for their daily meal with curry. But as you all know that wheat is a lot of gluten in it which can trigger a harmful immune system response in predisposed people. Wheat is mainly composed of carbs but also has a moderate amount of protein.

I am not saying that wheat does not has any good qualities it does has it's just that we need to moderate it with the goodness of some more fiber, protein, vitamins & minerals.

So while going through the process of making the flour more healthy I use to mix a lot of another ingredients to it and they are:

  1. RAGI
  2. SOYABEAN
  3. MILLET

As if our kids does not eat this grains separately so I tend to mix them with my wheat flour. And yes let me tell i own a atta maker so no need to go outside or no packed atta.

Let's discuss some benefits of having a multigrain atta:

1. A huge amount of fiber content makes it an excellent booster for proper digestion.

2. The extra protein content of the various multigrain like soybeans combined help the body in tissue repairing and damage control.

3. Ragi is loaded with calcium. This is one of the best non - dairy sources of calcium when compared to any other grains. According to the National institutes of nutrition in India, 100 grams of ragi has 344 mg calcium.

4. Ragi is rich in source of iron. Ragi is an excellent source of natural iron & thus a boon for anaemic patients & also for those with low haemoglobin level.

5.Millet is rich in minerals like calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus,  potassium,  and selenium as well as essential vitamins like vitamin B6, C, E & K.

6. One cup of soya bean (172 gm) boast around 29 grams of protein. It also has carbs, fiber, vitamins & minerals.

This flour can is useful for

- May reduce cancer risk
- Bone health
- Reducing risk of type 2 diabetes
- Kidney disease
- It controls obesity
- Increase energy
- Prevents metabolic disorder
- High in fiber.

So when you grind your flour do mix a cup of ragi, soybean & millet. You can even mix maize, chana dal, oats etc. but I don't add them just add this much grains.

Do try this recipe and tell me how did you feel. Initially you will find it little different for taste but later it becomes habit to this and the roti of this flour will turn a little red due to ragi so don't worry about the color.
